IKH, founded in 2002 in Athens (Greece), is a group of companies with around 230 employees, specializing in custom-built robotics and automation solutions for industry, as well as software solutions for both public and private sectors. In 2023, IKH further solidified its strategic position in the Greek market by forming Blend Technologies, a company dedicated to IR4 technologies, and launching iKnowHealth, a spin-off focused on e-health solutions. With over 60 large-scale projects completed, IKH remains at the forefront of digital transformation, robotics, IoT, and AI-driven intelligence.
Within EITM EmpowerWeld, IKH acts as the coordinator, business owner, and technology creator of the robotic welding solution. EmpowerWeld incorporates state-of-the-art technologies like Augmented Reality, Decision Support Systems, and robot motion planning, towards more efficient, precise, and safe welding processes, also digitizing the task and upskilling welding workforce.

CARELL

As part of the EmpowerWeld, Carell plays a crucial role as the end user and key partner for demonstrating the automated welding system. Carell, as a private company providing ship repair and dry testing services in Greece for over 65 years, has extensive experience in the shipbuilding industry and collaborates with major shipping companies worldwide. With this heritage and specialized expertise, Carell significantly contributes to the development of EmpowerWeld, offering a real-world environment for testing and adapting welding applications in shipbuilding.
Carell’s involvement in the demonstration phase is critical, as it provides the necessary knowledge and requirements for welding in unstructured and challenging environments, such as those encountered in the shipbuilding industry. Through their collaboration, EmpowerWeld will be tested under real working conditions, enhancing its performance, welding quality, and worker safety, while also reducing reliance on specialized personnel.

VELO LAB

Velo Lab is bicycle design and fabrication laboratory, designing, developing and producing it’s own bicycles and bicycle related products. Over the last 10 years, Velo Lab has developed an innovative range of city bicycles Electric and non electric, aluminum lightweight innovative cargo bicycles which is Velo Lab’s core business and more.
The idea to develop a new bicycle design was “born” in Athens in 2010 by the experienced veteran pro cyclist and mechanical engineer Stathis Stasinopoulos. Velo Lab will contribute to this project by sharing it’s deep knowledge in aluminum fabrication and welding techniques the best way possible.
After Stathis realised that his developments and ideas could not find a market in Greece, he moved to the bicycle city of Bremen where he set up a laboratory for bicycle design and manufacturing on the Überseeinsel in Bremen.
